The USS Constitution, the world's oldest commissioned warship has returned to the waters of Boston after two years of restorations. This wooden ship was launched way back in 1797. This is amazing news for us to hear as you may or may not remember that our team of contractors worked as part of the restoration project back in the summer of 2016.
We were honored to be apart of the restoration process. Our job was to restore the quarter galleys (or stern) which were covered in an old lead roll roofing. It was weathered and battered and needed to be replaced. Right in our own workshop, we fabricated the custom-made copper quarter galley. Our custom copper work allowed the ship to be restored to the original natural copper beauty!
This ship has so much history in America, and we are just glad that we could do our part to get it floating on the sea again. Check out some pictures that we took during the process, below!
